I have fond memories of Christmas times way back in the 60's. Being a car guy and having grown used to the very large sum of pocket money (I used to get 5c weekly), my budget got stuck on getting a Matchbox car now and then, taking in consideration that the cost of such a toy was 25c.
With Christmas looming, the thought of Santa, meant new additions to my collection. Therefore - out came my treasured Matchbox pocket catalogue (which at the stage was 2 years old), asking Santa for at least 6 cars left me counting off the days with great expectations! Most of the time (remember kids always want it all), the old fella delivered the wanted goodies and sometimes more. These memories of newly opened boxes with shiny pocket sized cars are still in my mind every Christmas.
Collect what you want and make sure your loved ones get the list Santa used to get in the good old days!
